| The construction equipment industry is developing machines with less environmental burdens such as low-noise, low-vibration and low-gas emission to protect the lives of those living near construction sites like those in city construction projects. Currently, low-noise/low-gas emission type construction equipment approved by the Ministry of Construction with standards equivalent to that in the U.S. and Europe are entering the market one after another. Furthermore, tighter regulations concerning noise and gas emission by the Ministry of Construction and the Environment Agency in the same way as the U.S. and Europe are currently being examined for the beginning of the 21st century. We are currently challenging various technical issues to answer to these demands. |

| Construction debris such as concrete and asphalt that is generated during construction work is becoming a social issue. Recently mobile crushing machines to recycle such debris directly at the site for reuse as filling material and aggregate heve been developed and commonly used. In such manner, the construction equipment industry is making efforts in new environmental measures concerning construction work by the development of machines. |

| The exterior design of construction equipment has
shifted from the conventional flat look to a rounder design. Colors such as green
and sky blue are also more commonly used. The construction equipment industry not only develops construction equipment with scenic attention for operators and construction related personnel but for those living near such sites as well. |
