| To prevent accidents relating to construction equipment, the construction equipment industry is aggressively tackling safety issues from development, design and production to services. |
|
||
| In order to prevent work related accidents from the use of construction equipment, we are making efforts to develop construction equipment that are safe and highly reliable based on past examples as well as domestic and overseas rules and regulations. |
|
||
| For safe usage of construction equipment, we provide
a service network by each manufacturer for performing tests specified by the government
as well as repairs and maintenance during malfunction of machines. This service
network is not only available in Japan but expands widely abroad as well. In order
to train operators of construction equipment certified by the goverment, each
manufacturer has established a training school. The number of operators attending
the school exceeds 110,000 a year. The construction equipment industry has created a common safety manual for those operating and maintaining construction equipment. The manual is widely distributed during sales of new equipment by a manufacturer to prevent accidents in advance. Furthermore, we will standardize and disseminate common safety indications found directly on the equipment to notify the presence of danger. |

| The Product Liability Law was put into effect in July 1995. Based on it, the Construction equipment industry launched a special committee of CEMA in May 1993 to focus on the examination of common PL measures for a period of 4 years. Various activities such as enlightenment activities for the PL industry, establishment of the PL group insurance, study of rules and regulation in Japan and overseas, etc., were carried out. The unified safety manual and safety indications are the results of such efforts. | ![]() |
