The ministry of International Trade and Industry approved the establishment of the Japan Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA). Oct. Equipment shipment report was prepared.

The Sixth International Statistics Committee (ISC) was held in Tokyo.The new paradigm "For Future Expansion of the CEMA" was published.

May. Products liability system expert commission was inaugurated. Jun. Construction equipment industry was appointed as an industry to which the governmental subsidies for employment adjustment is applied. Jul. Hajime Sakuma (Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd.)appointed as the third chairman of CEMA.

1994

May. Hajime Okada (Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.)appointed as the fourth chairman of CEMA. Aug. Regular press meeting by CEMA chairman was held. Sep. Network event for used construction equipment was inaugurated.

Mar. Guideline of efficient supply of spare parts for construction equipment was prepared. May. Masahiro Kumamoto (Kobe Steel, Ltd.)appointed as the sixth chairman of CEMA. Aug. CEMA office was moved to Shiba-Koen, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Oct. Construction equipment industry was appointed as an industry to which 'the medium and small size company credit insurance' was applied. Nov. "Action Program for the global environment conservation" was worked out.

Mar. 'Safety carrier operation guideline' was worked out. Jun. Mobil crane periodical self-imposed inspection system was inaugurated. Oct. The designation for the medium and small business credit insurance was extended.

Mar. "Year 2000 vision of the Japan construction equipment industry" was prepared. May The commemoration of CEMA's 10th anniversary was held (Recognition of persons of merit, and the commemorative speech by Mr. Richard Koo).

Mar. Unified words and terms manual for drilling equipments was created. Apr. Upgraded the CEMA website, "CEMA member exclusive" pages was added.
Pursuant to this, the house magazine was discontinued. May. Ryuichi Seguchi (Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.)appointed as the ninth chairman of CEMA. Sep. Released the guidelines for designing and fabricating concrete-pumps. Nov. Inaugurated the new institution of maintenance certification for the concrete-pump vehicles
