CEMA held 2024 New Year’s Party

Japan Construction Machinery Manufacturers Association (CEMA) held a New Year's party for 2024 on January 9, 2024 (Tuesday) for guests including members of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

At the commencement of the party, a moment’s silence was observed for those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, as well as those involved in the accident at Haneda Airport that occurred the following day.

After the moment’s silence, Chairman Honda made his greeting remarks. In the greeting, first, he expressed his determination to use the collective strength of the construction equipment industry to help restore the disaster areas affected by the aforementioned earthquake.

Next, he mentioned that this year’s activities will be based on CEMA’s founding philosophy of “contributing to society through harmonization and development,” and that CEMA will work together with its member companies to create a virtuous cycle of growth and distribution. While implementing strong governance through the healthy realization of “symbiosis and competition” (another of CEMA’s philosophies), Chairman Honda indicated that CEMA will reduce greenhouse gas emissions through improvements in fuel efficiency, utilization of low-carbon energy, adoption of electrification technology, etc., and promotion of GX (green transformation).

Furthermore, the Chairman announced that CEMA will continue to respond to DX (digital transformation), and requested the continued guidance and support of related ministries and agencies in implementing these measures.
