February 2023 Press Conference by CEMA Chairman (the 63rd)

CEMA publishes its demand forecast in February and August every year, including the shipment value of construction equipment.
Here is a summary of the Chairman’s regular Press Conference held on February 22, where the latest forecast was explained.

Contents

• For FY2022, the domestic demand is expected to remain solid with further increases in exports, and the full-year shipping value for FY2022 is estimated to reach JPY 2,849.9 billion (up 13% year-on-year).
• For FY2023, the domestic demand and exports are both expected to further grow for the third straight year of increases on the whole. All nine types of equipment are anticipated to either grow or remain unchanged year-on-year, which will drive the full-year shipping value to JPY 3,058 billion (up 7% year-on-year) , the highest ever value.
