Announcement regarding establishment of “Construction Equipment Day” and decision to hold a commemorative event

Marking 35 years since the establishment of Japan Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA), CEMA declared November 19 to be a memorial day known as “Construction Equipment Day,” and held a presentation on the establishment of “Construction Equipment Day” on May 26.

Through this memorial day, CEMA expects to enhance social recognition of the construction equipment industry as a whole, and help to secure human resources.

Furthermore, to celebrate the establishment of “Construction Equipment Day,” CEMA has decided to hold a commemorative event called “KENKI DREAM DAY” on November 23 at SHIBUYA CAST. in Shibuya City, Tokyo.

In addition to a talk event with guests, the event will also feature experiences to try operating construction equipment, simulations of remote-control technology that is the future of the industry, and a goods market where member companies gather to showcase and sell their goods.

CEMA will prepare a diverse program to create a day for visitors to experience and familiarize themselves with the technology and appeal of construction equipment.

Note:Construction Equipment is also called "KENKI" in Japanese.

As for the date, because construction equipment is often referred to as “heavy machinery,” November 19 was selected as a mnemonic for “good heavy machinery” in Japanese (1-1-10-9).
